Scholarship Search & Matching
Understanding PrecisionMatch™, status tags, and update schedules.
How does Scholarship Geni match me with specific awards (aka how does PrecisionMatch work)?
PrecisionMatch™ automatically compares your profile details against the specific eligibility rules of every scholarship in our database. It looks at your GPA, major, location, academic year, and personal background. It filters out awards you do not qualify for and shows you the ones where you meet the requirements.
What do the status tags (Open, Closed, Upcoming) mean on scholarship listings?
Status tags show you whether a scholarship is currently accepting applications.
- Open The scholarship is accepting applications right now.
- Upcoming The scholarship opens soon, giving you time to prepare your materials.
- Closed The deadline has passed, and applications are no longer accepted for this cycle.
How often is the scholarship database updated with new funding opportunities?
Our database is updated continuously throughout each week with new awards and verified deadlines. Our team and automated systems review opportunities to ensure requirements and links remain active and accurate.
